What makes this different from a traditional photography session?
When you work with me, you’re not simply commissioning a photoshoot; you’re co-creating your visual mythology that honors who you are.
Every element — from our private, virtual, one on one session to the moodboard and final images & the Atlas booklet — is designed to feel like a story unfolding.
You don’t just walk away with art; you walk away seen…. with an artifact of this moment in your life that you can show people 100 years from now your essence.
I’m not a “model.” Will I know how to show up for something like this?
You don’t need to perform what you think things should look like (unless you’re after a specific vibe you want to embody) we’ll always use that as inspiration to just arrive as you are.
This process isn’t about posing necessarily; it’s about presence and becoming the reality of how you want to be seen.
Through guided conversation and creative direction, I help you relax into your essence —-

What if I don’t know what I want the Shoot to look like?
That’s the beauty of collaboration.
You bring the story; I bring the eyes.
During your creative call, we’ll explore your aesthetic world — color, symbol, energy, archetype.
From there, I’ll create your mood board, a visual roadmap that we’ll both feel deeply aligned with before the shutter of the camera ever meets canvas.
You’ll always be part of the process — but never have to carry it on your own.
Can I use this for branding or personal content?
Absolutely — many of my clients are entrepreneurs, artists, and creative leaders who love blending their visual identity with their mythology.
Your artwork and film can serve as elevated visual storytelling for your brand, launches, or personal archives — while still feeling timeless and sacred.
Think of it as aesthetic content with soul.
Do you offer payment structures or plans?
Yes — this experience is meant to feel both intentional and attainable. I want everyone to have to the potential for having beautiful images of themselves that they have cocreated with me.
You may pay in full or make a deposit & choose a custom payment plan (typically split into 2–3 milestones).
Once your deposit is made, your project timeline begins, and your myth starts taking form.
How long does the full process take?
From your first call to the finished painting, the experience typically unfolds over 3-4 weeks ( depending on fullness of schedule)
Each photoshoot is crafted with ritual and precision and in the artistic world we don’t rush the process.
If you add The Narrative Video addition, the timeline extends slightly to accommodate pulling clips from our shoot, editing, and delivery — ensuring the final product feels cinematic, and again not rushed. ;)
Where are you based, and can you travel to me?
I’m based in Philadelphia , and yes — I can travel to you for your session. I am passport ready and nothing makes me more excited than to travel and spend time with you)
Clients often choose to host their experience in spaces that feel sacred or symbolic to them — a home studio, a seaside villa, a creative retreat.
Each environment becomes part of the myth itself.
Can I commission this as a gift?
Yes — and it’s one of the most meaningful gifts you can give.
The Embodied Myth is perfect for milestone birthdays, creative rebirths, and major life transitions.
If it’s for someone else, I’ll design a beautifully packaged invitation to the experience so it arrives as an heirloom, not just a booking.

Meet Alexis Nunnelly
Alexis Nunnelly is a MODERN DAY MYTH MAKER , fluent in iconic imagery and sensuality with over a decade of living her brand , The Artist Type, & experience translating human presence into enduring works of art.
Holding both a BFA and MFA in painting, her background bridges academic mastery with an unmistakable rawness that has become her signature. Her practice is rooted in self portraiture — full of intimacy, symbolism, and ritual—drawing from mythology, movement, and personal narrative to create one-of-a-kind portrait experiences. She uses her decade of looking inward to teach you to see yourself under the same light of artist AND muse.
Nunnelly’s sessions are immersive, sensual, and highly personalized. She has painted dancers mid-motion, lovers in embrace, friends sharing wine and silence. Her brush captures not just the body, but the myth unfolding inside it. Working in oil, mixed media, and live observational sketch, she creates expressive relics that are at once contemporary and timeless—anchored in feeling, fire, and full-bodied presence.
